KUALA LUMPUR: The charred remains of two people were found after a bungalow was razed in a fire at Taman Gembira here Sunday (June 26) morning.

Two other men managed to escape from the burning house.

Fire and Rescue Department senior operations commander Mohd Hafizan Hassan said the incident occurred at 6.22am on Sunday at Jalan Sekutu 4, Taman Gembira.

"We received a distress call and dispatched fire engines, emergency medical rescue services vehicles, and a water tanker from the Seputeh, Pantai, Sri Petaling and Hang Tuah Fire Stations as well as 35 firemen.

"The fire was controlled by 6.54am and put out completely at 7.12am," he said when contacted on Sunday.

He said the fire partially destroyed the three-storey bungalow.

He said the fire partially destroyed the three-storey bungalow.

“Two men managed to escape the blaze and suffered burns.

“We have also discovered the remains of two victims and are currently working to search for other victims,” he said.

He added that the fire investigation unit was at the scene to ascertain the cause of the fire.
